Introduction to Computer Science through the micro:bit
Join Derek Runberg from SparkFun Electronics to explore programming with the micro:bit and Microsoft MakeCode. During this session, we will start with the basics of programming hardware using this inexpensive, flexible and accessible piece of hardware that can be programmed using a Chromebook and a basic WiFi connection. The workshop will wrap up with a presentation on the micro:bit ecosystem from SparkFun that includes a number of kits and resources to expand the capabilities and uses of micro:bit. Through this ecosystem, electronics and sensors can be embedded into a number of subjects across the curriculum including Weather Sciences, Robotics, Social Studies and more.
